IT Band Syndrome can be a major issue and throw you off of your training routine.  Here’s what you need to know:

1)  It’s often referred to as a friction syndrome and is caused by a tight muscle in the front of the hip, which makes the IT band tight and causes it to rub on the tissue below it – leading to pain and inflammation.

2)  Imbalances in the hips/pelvis or foot can predispose you to this condition – a chiropractor can help this.

3)  A systematic approach of ice, heat, strengthening and stretching can allow you to overcome this nagging injury.
